what is the difference between crude oil and fuel ?

Crude oil and petroleum are interchangeably used to indicate hydrocarbon fossil fuels. Crude oil is the liquid collection of Hydrocarbons that nature created that comes out of the ground as nature created it. Gasoline, Gas, and Motor Fuel are normally used interchangeably to mean the hydrocarbons that are refined from crude oil within a certain range of carbon atoms.

The length of the hydrocarbon molecule chains that those compounds are made of. Gas and natural gas have very short molecules, gasoline has longer ones, asphalt is even longer and crude is a mixture and the origin of them all.
